Pot of gold

Hometown food is always the best. My aunt always whips mouth-watering dishes on Saturday. The authentic way of cooking this dish is using fish maw. But the cheaper alternative (and yes, it tastes superb as well) is to use dried pig skin. This dish always makes me crave for more. Well, who can resist this pot of tasty collagen?

Flu didn't get any better. Today is nothing but sleep. In times when I'm awake, it's just eating and watching drama. It does sound like my usual Sunday but the amount of sleep I got today is incredible. 

Had vegetarian beehoon for breakfast. I truly miss the white vegetarian beehon at Boon Lay market. It used to be my habitual breakfast order but now it's gone. I have yet to find another to replace it as my best. Maybe it's the mind, we all love to picture the best in our memory, don't we?

Argh my flu got worst today. Glad that I have this warm bowl of goodness to kick start the day. All my favorites in a bowl. Gonna head out to town to hunt pouches for my camera and hard disk soon. Hope I can get what I'm looking for.

Go Korean

Hi, it's Sunday again. I always love the earlier part of Sunday, having some time for myself to do what I like.

And yea, I can make brunch for me and my family. Today's menu is kimchi fried rice. First attempt at cooking Korean as well as fried rice. Fried rice is definitely a dish that I have underestimated all these years. My right arm actually hurts after tossing the rice in the pan endlessly. Well, the outcome is not too bad, even though the dish supposed to come with a sunny side up which I'm too lazy to make after doing arm exercise.

Gravity pulls on you and me

Filled my stomach at home before heading to Cathay Photo to get Sony NEX5N. Finally got this baby after so long. Definitely my daily companion from now. Met K in town after his paper and settled our dinner at Sakae Sushi. Their standard certainly dropped. The tako sushi really cmi just by the look of it. Even K commented that the ramen is of food court standard. Please do something Sakae. Watched Taken 2 after dinner. It may not be as good as the first one but I enjoyed it. Liam Neeson is the factor of course. Manliest man ever.

SSB carnival

Fund raising carnival in office today. My team was rushing deliverable for client hence only managed to join the crowd later. Not much choices of food left but enough to fill our stomach. Best of all, Starbucks coffee and tea going at $4 only for Venti at our mini Starbucks station :)

Caffeine date with Y at Tiong Bahru Bakery. Not very impressive as the leftover selection was very limited. Definitely gonna make another trip to try their squid ink burger.

I love to spend my Sundays in bed all day. Watch tv series from my laptop (all on Drop Dead Diva today), take a nap when I feel like it or just sit and stare into space. All in my bed. Just because the hours I can spend in it during the rest of the week is so scarce.
