Travel: Bandung Day 2

Sightseeing in Bandung.

Jalan Merdeka

Our first stop is St Peter's Cathedral. We had a hard time trying to tell the cab driver our destination. It seems like the locals do not really know the tourist attractions other than those factory outlets. Maybe it would be easier if we had translated the places we wanted to go to Bahasa Indonesian. The weather was pretty hot but luckily it was not as humid as Singapore. It was very windy hence we didn't sweat like pigs. Next stop is Bank Indonesia building. It is a very grand building, definitely a very significant landmark in Bandung. Apparently it is open for visitors but we didn't go in.

Lunch at a small eatery in the hidden alley. It was a decision made out of desperation as we were famished and there weren't many eateries around as well. And the thought of "why not try something local and authentic" landed us here. It was fully packed but luckily we managed to get a seat. I ordered Mee Bakso and K had Ayam Goreng. I swore that's the best chicken I had in Bandung. Never judge by its looks! The side veggie is watercress which I like as well. The Ayam Goreng definitely must try! The dessert is interesting with honey dew cut into a bowl and shaved ice, syrup and milk were added.

Become Popeye after a satisfying meal.
